Jeepers keepers! Reported Hammers target Schwarzer hints at Fulham exit

In further goalkeeping developments, Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer looks likely to leave Craven Cottage when his current deal expires at the end of the season- and West Ham manager Sam Allardyce could be set to nab the veteran Ozzie.

The 40 year old told Sky Sports this morning that he is "no closer to signing a new deal and there aren't any talks at the moment, either."

Much of Schwarzer's future depends on his standing in the goalkeeping stakes for his country, which is likely to fall if he is not first choice for Fulham. Cottagers boss Martin Jol has conceded in recent days that he is in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer, and with young goalkeeper David Stockdale making a name for himself after an impressive spell on loan at Championship side Hull City, Schwarzer, who has 105 caps for Australia, could find himself third choice in West London.

The Express reported on 16 March that the Irons were mooting a summer swoop for the Sydney-born stopper and that could well be on the cards now, with Schwarzer today touching on his wish to be first choice for his country.

"I definitely want to play until the next World Cup with Australia- I just want to do the best I can until the end of the season and we'll see what happens after."

One to watch.. not exactly a long-term successor to Jussi though..
