Hammers in Hunt for Reading striker

West Ham are keeping tabs on Reading striker Noel Hunt, according to Sky Sports.

The 30 year old is out of contract at the end of the season and Royals manager Nigel Adkins is believed to want to trim his squad after relegation to the Championship was confirmed with a 0-0 draw at home to Queens Park Rangers yesterday.

The Irons have been linked with Hunt's brother Stephen, currently at Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers, in the past.

One selling point for the younger of the Hunt brothers, Noel, is that he is a Hammers fan, as he admitted last season after Reading's 4-2 win at Upton Park. Sam Allardyce will reportedly face competition for Hunt from newly promoted Cardiff City and Hull City, who can seal promotion to the Premier League with a win next Sunday.
