Big Sam sorts new contract- deal agreed as long as Premier League survival secured

According to Sports Direct News, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has agreed a new contract which will see him remain in the Upton Park hotseat until 2016, having agreed a deal with the club.

The word is that the 59 year old will remain on the same wages as his original contract this season, contrary to previous media reports of a £1m a year wage increase. It is believed that all that remains so far is for the club to decide on the timing of the announcement, subject to Allardyce securing the team's survival in the Premier League.

Irons co-chairman David Gold late this afternoon confirmed to the Sun the board's U-turn on their previous statement that no talks would begin until the end of the season.

"We like Sam and Sam likes us and in those circumstances a deal will be done. There are still 'i's to dot and 't's to cross but there's a willingness on both sides to make it happen. Details of the deal will remain private for the moment but once we are assured of Premier League survival we would hope that an announcement can be made."
