EXCLUSIVE: Hammers in hunt for giant City keeper- negotiations ongoing

Blowing Bubbles understands that West Ham are in advanced negotiations with Premier League champions Manchester City over goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon.

The 26 year old Romanian stands at an astonishing 6ft 8in and has represented his national side 15 times since 2008. With the Irons set to miss out on national teammate Razvan Rat, who is set to seal a move to French giants Marseille, they have turned their attentions to their goalkeeping issue.

With current Hammers goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen nearing the end of his playing days, the East London outfit haven't wasted any time in finding a replacement for the Finnish 'keeper. Jaaskelainen has been in fine form for West Ham this season but with young stopper Stephen Henderson not yet considered ready for the first team; having spent most of this season on loan at Championship side Ipswich Town, other alternatives have been considered, and Pantilimon could fit the bill.

No fee has been reported as of yet but negotiations are in place. Time will tell for now though.
