Two in two for Paulista

Wellington Paulista made it two goals in two starts for the West Ham development squad earlier on today.

Unfortunately, his goal came in a 3-2 defeat for the Hammers against Tottenham U21s, but another goal for Paulista will be a good confidence boost for the Brazilian.

Spurs went ahead before the half-hour mark, then Elliot Lee equalised on 43 minutes, only for Spurs to regain their advantage before half time.

Paulista’s goal came from a pass from Lee, which he stylishly slotted in on 57 minutes. There were other opportunities for the striker, but he sent one bobbling past the post and fired another one wide.

Paulista  had set up an opportunity earlier on for Lee who was unlucky not to grab a second. Sounds like that could be a blossoming partnership between the two as they both aim to push themselves into the first team reckoning; Lee having made his first team debut in the 1-0 FA Cup 4th Round replay defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford last month.
