Mixed messages from Bony representatives: striker's future unclear with no contract offer from Vitesse Arnhem

The Wilfried Bony situation; which is not quite a saga as of yet; but could well become one as soon as the summer transfer window opens, has taken another odd turn. The Ivory Coast striker has two represenatives; Dalibor Lacina and Francis Kacou.

Of the two, Kacou seems the more level-headed, and told TalkSport on Friday that although several clubs including West Ham were tracking his client, "there has been absolutely no serious interest or calls," and made his intentions to ignite a bidding war for Bony's services over the summer clear, saying that "hopefully Bony will score many times before the end of the season and he will have lots of clubs to choose from in the summer," thus clearly indicating that no serious interest had been stated in his client.

However, Lacina, who seems the more hot-headed of the pair, told Russian broadsheet Izvestia earlier this month that the player was in talks with "a number of Russian clubs," who he said couldn't name "because everything is in the process of negotiation." This is coming from the man who claimed in November that Premier League sides Chelsea and Liverpool were both in talks with Bony.

These mixed signals from Bony's two representatives are rather worrying; signing a player with this kind of baggage would cause all kinds of trouble for the Hammers if Bony ever fell out with the board, over say, a new contract. Kacou sought to clarify the situation today, stating that "there is nothing concrete, we only hope for something to happen- I thin my colleague has the same meaning. It remains football, something can be different tomorrow." Kacou also confirmed that Bony's Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem had not spoken to the player about any new deal; the 24 year old's contract runs out in summer 2015. Keep watching Blowing Bubbles, folks- I get the feeling we haven't heard the last of this one..
