Irons set to miss out on Ivorian hitman

West Ham look likely to miss out on Vitesse Arnhem star Wilfried Bony, as he seeks to land a move to Russia before the country's transfer window close within the next two weeks. The 24 year old, who is the Eredivisie's top scorer so far this term with 18 goals in 19 outings, is currently one of the hottest properties in European football and has reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle in recent months. Bony is keen to leave Holland, but has his heart set on a potentially lucrative move to Russia, telling Voetbal International that he "hopes to leave this winter," but that the market is not open for much longer and he can "only work and wait and hope that one chance emerges." I don't know about your thoughts, you Irons, but personally I'm beginning to think Big Sam might have had a point with his comments about Russian football the other day! Sad to see players valuing money above glory, but this is football in the 21st century, and it's not gonna get any better.
