Irons keeping tabs on Alonso

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is said to be keeping a close eye on Bolton left back Marcos
Alonso.

It is thought that Allardyce sent a scout to watch Alonso in Bolton’s win
against Burnley, which sparked rumours that he could be about to raid his
old club for the young talent.

Alonso, 22, made one appearance for Real Madrid before moving to the
North-West of England, but will be out of contract at the end of the
season.

However, there may be stiff competition for the Spanish player’s signature,
as Fiorentina are also interested.

Although he may not be as experienced as his namesake Xabi, Marcos Alonso
could be one to watch. He can fill that all important left-back position,
but is versatile enough to play in midfield.
