Hold on a dicky bird! Hammers back in race to sign Ivory Coast star Bony

Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony's agent has revealed that his client is unlikely to move to Russia before the close of the Russian transfer window in nine days time. Francis Cacou told TalkSport that Russian clubs CSKA Moscow, Anzhi Makhachkala and Zenit St Petersburg are all tracking the Ivory Coast international, but that there "is absolutely no serious interest or calls." West Ham have been linked with the player in recent days but looked set to miss out on him as Bony looked to seal a lucrative move to Russia, but that is a prospect that looks increasingly less likely. Irons chief Sam Allardyce is keen to bolster his frontline in the summer, with no permanent deal for England striker Andy Carroll agreed yet, and the in-form Bony could yet be heading to Upton Park. The Hammers will face stiff competition for the man who has scored eighteen goals in nineteen games in the Eredivisie this season, as agent Cacou looks to spark a bidding war for his man's services: "hopefully Bony will score many times and he will have a lot of clubs to choose from in the summer." Nothing like a bit of loyalty in football eh?
