Haycock stays positive after Dev Squad defeat

West Ham Development Squad manager Nick Haycock says that he will use yesterday’s defeat to Tottenham as a learning curve.

His young side were defeated 3-2 by Spurs, but Haycock was pleased with the performance and recognises that good results will come if the lads keep up their current effort levels.

Reflecting on the game, Haycock told whufc.com: "I'm always a positive person. During the game I can see mistakes being made, but that's what the players are out there to do, to learn. Some are getting tested at a higher level and it's a quick learning curve for them.”

"Like we said in the changing room, collectively you've lost a game, but individually some of you can be proud of your performances and it's about catching the (first team) manager's eye.”

The next match is against West Bromwich Albion at Rush Green.
