West Ham will have to fend off stiff competition from the likes of Lazio
and Napoli if they want to sign Granit Xhaka.
The Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder has been linked with a move to the
Premier League, with Arsenal and Manchester United also said to be
interested.
Xhaka, 20, caught Allardyce’s eye in January, but no move has yet been
confirmed. He is a Swiss international, and is also said to be one of the
brightest youngsters in the Bundesliga.
With all of these big name clubs sniffing around, there may be no hope of
signing such a promising young star, but then, stranger things have
happened in East London.
