Hammers home from Dubai

West Ham are back from their mid-season break to Dubai and are already knuckling down to work, says assistant manager Neil McDonald. The break was "not a reward," according to Big Sam's number two, who pointed to the same trip at a similar point of the season last season and the results it achieved, with the Hammers only losing once in their final 18 games of the season and clinching promotion to the Premier League. Speaking to whufc.com, "Macca" (as we're apparently supposed to call him, judging from his weekly propaganda email we all get spamming our inboxes after every game) stated that the trip was part of the Irons' training scheme and that after arriving back, "we might not get the result we want straightaway, but it is certain that over the coming weeks, the players will up their game, their energy levels and the distances they cover." With the Tottenham game only a week away, we hope so- MacAttack!
