Andy good enough for England- Allardyce

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has said that he hopes Andy Carroll will return to the England squad after his return from a lengthy injury.

Carroll came back from his knee injury to score the winning goal for the Irons against Swansea on Saturday and Big Sam believes that this should open Roy Hodgson’s eyes.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard, Allardyce said: "All this talk about someone as tall as him suggests that England would play a different way, well you play to win, don't you? We don't want him getting injured again but if he stays fit and keeps putting in top-class performances in the Premier League you get picked again don't you? You can't afford to be ignored."

Carroll put in good international performances in Euro 2012 last summer and scored England's opner in the vital group game against Sweden but has struggled in the Premie League over the last twelve months with only two goals in twenty seven appearances before Saturday, so a return to scoring form should hopefully see him picked again by Hodgson.

Hammers in England shirts is always a compliment to the club, and Carroll would represent us well. Let’s hope he can state his case to be involved in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
